Long flights are almost always tiring and unbearable. For example, if you want to travel from New York to Greece, you have to fly for 9 hours. That means 9 hours of screaming children, the perpetual roar of the aeroplane's engines and the severe jet lack that can ruin not only your day, but a few more afterwards too. Luckily, there are some tips that can keep you sane on a long journey.

Long flight
1. Check in early
The earlier you check in, the better your chances of scoring your favourite seat are.
2. Spend you energy before depart
You will be sitting for the next 10-20 hours, so it's better for you to de-stress yourself. Have a nice breakfast, go to the gym or read a nice book. You have to feel relaxed and without anxiety.
3. Bring your own pillow
Travel pillow is the only way not to destroy your neck and sleep well during the flight.
4. Charge your tablet
In-flight entertainment systems are not always reliable, and the last thing you want is to get bored in a ten-hour flight. Watch movies and listen to your favourite music. It is the only amusing thing you can do in the aeroplane.
5. Stay healthy
Fight off dehydration and thrombosis by drinking water, stretching and walking around the cabin.
6. Be productive
So many hours without having to do nothing can be a perfect opportunity to be productive. If you have brought your laptop, you can work on something important without any distraction.
7. Pack extra snacks
Airline food is usually not enough, even on long flights. At the same time, it is important to stay well-nourished.
8. Get comfortable
Change into a super comfortable outfit before take off. Useful are also the layers in your clothes in order to be adjusted to the temperature of the aeroplane.
9. Pre-pack these necessary things
Toothpaste and toothbrush, hand cream, lip balm and a deodorant. These items can make you feel fresh and less tired.
10. Book the connection at the end of the journey
Nothing is more tiring than beginning a ten-hour flight after you have already spent 3 or more hours on another flight or in an airport waiting for your next flight. Before the long flight, you should be refreshed and ready to deal with it.
11. Set your watch to your destination time
Do your best to sleep when it's night at your destination and stay awake when it's daytime there.
12. Avoid alcohol and caffeine
Both alcohol and caffeine disrupt your ability to sleep.
