5 cool things you can do in Greece and why

Greece ● 09 May 2017

A new destination is for everyone something unexplored, a tabula rasa that can gives us amazing and unforgettable moments. To these moments belongs, of course, sightseeing, and everybody wants to learn things about the civilisation and the culture of the country he/ she has visited. However, true happiness can be found in moments, when we relax and have experiences we have never imagined, things we could not do in our country. In Greece, there are many things you can do and see, but some activities are cool and unusual, and one thing is for sure: you have never imagined yourself of doing that.

1. Watch a movie at an open-air cinema

Have you ever thought of watching your favourite movie under the stars, feeling the breeze of the sea or relaxing in a garden? In Greece, you can do that. The weather in summer is warm even at night, the possibility of rain is low, and the movies are not dubbed. Contrariwise, you can watch it in its original language with Greek subtitles. Eat pop corn or souvlaki, drink a beer and enjoy the film at a beautiful open-air cinema, in a garden, a roof-top or by the sea.

2. Swim late at night

The Mediterranean Sea is warm, especially in July and August. Furthermore, the sea in the most Greek islands is calm, the waters are shallow, and there are no dangerous sea creatures, such as sharks or dog fishes. Consequently, you can swim in the sea without fear, even at night. The feeling of swimming at night, under the stars is just breathtaking.

3. Eat dinner after 23:00 o'clock

All restaurants in Greece, in every village, island or town, serve food all day long. You don't have to worry about the schedule. You can even eat dinner at 23:00 or 24:00 o'clock, it is very usual in Greece.

4. Have breakfast on one island and lunch on another

Island-hopping is an experience only the Greek islands can offer to you. They are in a so close distance to each other that you can have your breakfast on one island and then swim, eat lunch or drink your cocktail on another. You only have to take the boat or the ferry, and you can reach your destination in 30 minutes or one hour.

5. Visit a beach by a caique

Many beaches in Greece are inaccessible by car, or the road is really difficult. However, you don't have to feel exhausted when you reach the beach you wanted to explore. Just take the caique or the small boat from the port and enjoy the amazing experience of taming the waves and seeing caves and stunning inaccessible beaches.
