Fun Things to Do on the Beach

Greek Islands ● 18 July 2017

Believe it or not, there are some people in this world who get bored on the beach. Their main argument is that you get into a never-ending cycle of sunbathing and swimming. According to them, nothing is happening on the beach. Well, that is not entirely true.  If you have the mood to get active, there are plenty of things that you can do to keep yourself busy!

Go snorkelling

Have you gotten bored with staying on the shore sunbathing for hours? Get your mask, snorkel, flippers, and off you go. Dive into new adventures and discover as much as you can. A new world unfolds itself in front of your eyes. Such equipment is undoubtedly one of the must have summer accessories that should always be in your bag when you head to the beach. There is no better thing than exploring the mysteries that are hidden under the sea surface…

Water sports madness

Leave the convenience of your sunbed and get to know and indulge into the water sports of paddle surfing, canoeing, windsurfing, water skiing and kite surfing. With its powerful winds, magical seabed and the energy of the waves, Greece will travel you to a unique world of maritime activities. The natural landscape in Greece offers the best area for such sports!

Diving, tricks, and fun

Love the sea and all that it has to offer. Dive, play with the waves and explore your surroundings. If you like diving from above, a rocky beach with a big rock that lies in the sea would be ideal for you! Follow the fish, smell the breeze, listen to the enchanting summer sounds. You could even dive from a sailing boat while you are island-hopping the mesmerising Greek shores…

Have you ever played beach volley?

Those who are into sports games, fun never stops.  To play beach volley, you do not have to be in the best physical condition, even amateurs can do it. The only equipment you are going to need is just a ball. It is a good exercise for your whole body since you are in constant motion. Your legs, hands, and trunk play a leading role, as you run, jump or kick, pass the ball to the other half of the court. Calories burned: approximately 550 per hour.

Beach Rackets

You might be familiar with the well-known sound when the ball hits the racket… With this activity, you can exercise extremely well, while you are getting evenly tanned! Calories burned: approximately 450 per hour.

Take a walk and go for an ice cream

Summer means beach, sun, good company and having fun. What can you do though when the heat is so intense that you feel like your whole body is going to evaporate? Refresh yourself with a “Granita” or a “Sorbet”. It is a light substitute for ice cream, able to satisfy your cravings for frozen sweetness, without giving the calories of the classic vanilla flavour.

Walk and explore the beach

Sometimes walking is best way to get your blood moving and indulge into the beautiful scenery that goes beyond your towel!  Stand up and start walking bare feet on the sandy beach. You’ll get a massage feeling, while the waves will slowly wash away the sand from your skin. You might pick up some pretty awesome pebbles or shells found on your way...

A tablet can do the trick

How much time could somebody spend on a sunbed? In the past, most people would carry board games, magazines and books with them, but now tablets have taken over their place, keeping us up to date, having fun and help us get in touch with our friends. So why not bring it with you while you head to the beach? You might find an app-game to play with friends! Don’t forget to get your power bank with you as well in case you stay to watch the sunset…
