Greece has stunning beaches, and international media, travel blogs and people around the world agree about Greece's natural beauty, which creates some of the best places in Europe for swimming and sunbathing. These are the top 10 beaches in Greece according to Telegraph.

Shipwreck Beach, Zakynthos, Ionian Islands

The Shipwreck Beach in Zakynthos is considered among the best beaches worldwide. It is an exposed sandy cove, which owes its name to the wreck of a ship called Panagiotis that is believed to have been a smugglers ship. The area of the beach attracts thousands of tourists yearly, but you can access it only by boat. This popular site is also a famous base jumping location. The beauty of the landscape, the colour of the waters and the combination of the golden sand with the shipwreck create a picture that is a trademark of Greece.

Myrtos, Kefalonia, Ionian Islands

Myrtos is one of the most famous beaches in the Mediterranean Sea. It is a long coast with white sand and turquoise waters surrounded by steep cliffs. It is partly organised, but in the summer, it gets very crowded. The best way to visit it is to stay in Fiskardo, a nearby wonderful and traditional village in Kefalonia, and then, explore this amazing beach on a weekday and not during the weekends.

Sarakiniko, Milos, Cyclades

The most photographed landscape of CycladesSarakiniko is a moonscape that impresses with its white cliffs, the turquoise waters and the waves hitting the volcanic rocks. The wild beauty of this extraordinary scenery is something you haven' ever seen.

Vai, Agios Nikolaos, Crete

94 km from Agios Nikolaos, lies the beach of Vai, a shore you won't believe that it is in Greece. Surrounded by the largest palm tree forest in Europe, with 5,000 palm trees, Vai Beach is a beach that reminds of the exotic shores of Africa, Asia and Caribe. White sand, crystal waters and the warm sun make you believe that you have found the heaven on earth.

Egremni, Lefkada, Ionian Islands

With remarkably blue and clear waters, surrounded by white, impressive cliffs, the long sandy beach of Egremni is considered the best in the island of Lefkada as well as one of the best in the Ionian Islands.

Pori, Koufonisi, Cyclades

Pori is the best beach of Koufonisi, an impressively beautiful long sandy bay with calm turquoise waters. On the one side, the beach is perfect for sunbathing and swimming, and on the other side, the waves create a wild scenery with rocks and landscape like being in a desert. One beach bar and an elegant restaurant are perfectly combined with the natural setting, and you can literally spend there the whole day, admiring the beauty of Pori and forgetting everything else.

Voidokilia, Messinia, Peloponnese

Near Pylos, this horseshoe-shaped beach with the golden sand and the emerald waters is a perfect example of the beauty in mainland Greece. Above the beach, you can see the ruins of a Frankish castle of the 13th century and combine a historical visit with a day by the sea.

St Paul's Bay, Lindos, Rhodes

In Lindos, you can find one of the most popular beaches on Rhodes, especially for families. It offers water sports and taverns. If you walk around the corner, you will find a shallow inlet with waters excellent for bathing, under the shadow of Lindos' Acropolis.
