The recent years there is a big revival of the Greek Microbrewery. The results are some of the most unique quality beers that will pleasantly surprise you. Here is a list of the beers you need to try and why!


There is quite an interesting list of locally produced beers in Crete with strong aromas, great taste and in fantastic bottles. Each beer that is made in Crete has a different story to tell but all of them have one common thing: they started as an experiment but they became a local legend. If you are in a trendy bar or restaurant in Heraclion or Chania or anywhere in Crete see the beer catalogue and look for the beers that are locally produced on the island. Some of them that you need to try are Solο, Lyra, Cretan beer etc. Combine the Cretan beers with the local, traditional Cretan mezedes and have an unforgettable travel experience!


Septem beer is a locally produced beer that has taken awards internationally thanks to its unique blend and characteristics. You will find it in trending bars all around Greece. Chios island apart from the locally produced mastique, a product that is unique all over the world, it is also the motherland of a great beer called Chios. The microbrewery is located in Kambos in Chios and according to the owners it is the smallest one in the country! Chios beer is a fresh beer that comes in about five different types.
