How to find cheap flights to Greece

Greece ● 17 November 2016

Although airline companies like Ryanair and EasyJet have flights to Greece from many places in Europe, low-budget flights are, especially during the summer months, difficult to find. However, this cost is one of the biggest expenditures of your vacations, and you should do anything to avoid paying a fortune for that. In this article, you will read some money-saving tips that will help you in this procedure.

Cheap flights

The first thing you have to do is to book early, at least 2 months in advance. On the other hand, if you are ready to risk a lot of money or even your journey, you can book late in order to take advantage of the last-minute deals.

Another secret is to be prepared to travel any day of the week. Check a day or two before or after your optimal departure and arrival dates, and you have great possibilities to find excellent offers.

If you travel from outside Europe,  the aeroplane tickets can be really expensive. Nevertheless, it is wise to search for a cheap flight to a big airport of Germany, England or France because to these countries, are flying many companies, and therefore, the competition leads to tickets on a reasonable budget. Then, from Munich, Paris or London, it is easier to find a flight to Greece with a smaller and consequently more affordable airline.

If you can be more flexible, you should chase the fare and not the destination. There are travel apps (like Kayak), which offer you a tool to set the budget and see all the destinations under this budget.

The flexibility can also be extended to the outbound and return flights. Most airlines sell now one-way tickets at reasonable prices, meaning you can fly with one airline and return with another or even fly to one airport and return from another if this combination is cheaper than flying from the same airport or with the same company.

Another smart solution is to become a frequent flyer of one particular airline company or alliance or use a credit card that rewards you with miles. Thus, you can collect miles, and after a few months, it is possible to win a free ticket.

Last but not least, you should wake up early and search for deals. Many airlines release discounted tickets early in the morning, and all the airlines as well the airports worldwide offer cheaper flights if you are willing to fly before daybreak. Get rest in the aeroplane, and save money for something you love more than the sleep.
