Greek sandals

Sandals, are a big fashion trend, even Hollywood celebrities have chosen them for their stylish looks. And if you are wondering why is that, the few information following might make you understand the reason.

They are comfortable, impressive and always in fashion, especially during the summer heat. Made of leather, plastic, colorful, with motifs, sandals are essential, cool and they fit with everything. Their history began since the ancient times. A very famous example are the sandals with the wings which were the symbol of God Hermes the messenger of the Gods. Until the Roman era the most famous type of sandals ware the leather, those made of peaces of animal skin which were tied, with strings around the tight.

Generally, the ancients rarely wore closed shoes. They preferred the sandals, since they were designed to protect them from the soil and keep their feet clean. Women also wore sandals, even though they spent most of their time indoors. The Greek sandals are made of several bands which keep steady and safe the foot. The upper part of the sandal was usually colorful,. The soles were made of the best quality, cow skin, which was placed in several layers. In ancient Rome, the citizens used to carve their boots and sandals with complex designs.

The best part of the sandal story is that they are still useful, ideal for every hour of the day. You can walk on them in beaches and pedestrian streets. They are unisex. They help the body to maintain its natural position, so to be able to walk long distances but not get tired.

If you do not like classic designs you can find modern sandals, which even famous international designers have crafted. The prices differ from store to store and it depends on the material from which they are manufactured and of course their brand.
