1. Archaeological Museum
The Archaeological Museum of Milos is located in Plaka, in a neoclassical building designed by the internationally famous architect Ernst Ziller, who have designed many buildings in Greece. At the entrance of the museum, there is a replica of the famous statue Venus de Milo, which has been found by a farmer in Milos in 1870 and is now in the Louvre Museum in Paris. The museum hosts findings from the Prehistoric Age, such as sculptures, coins, obsidian tools, inscriptions and reliefs.
2. Mineralogical Museum
Mines and minerals have affected the history of Milos, and to learn about the mineral wealth of the island, an ideal place is the Mineralogical Museum in Adamas Milos. Through photographs, representations and paintings, the visitor can be informed about the periods of the mining activity as well as the geology and topography of the island that created the impressive volcanic landscape of Milos.
3. Catacombs
The famous catacombs in Milos are one of the most important sites of the island. It is estimated that they were built at the end of the 1st century, and they were used as Christian cemeteries and churches during Roman Times, when the Romans were persecuting the Christians.
4. Ancient Theatre
On the top of the hill near the Catacombs, stands the well-preserved Ancient Theatre of Milos that the Romans built during the Hellenistic Period. This theatre was used to organise festivals during the antiquity, and nowadays, the locals also use it for many cultural events and theatre performances during the summer period.

5. Island-hopping: Folegandros and Kimolos
From Pollonia, the small harbour of Milos, you can take the boat to Kimolos, the small island that is located only 15 minutes from Milos, offering you the ultimate island-hopping experience in a day-trip. Kimolos is a typical island of Cyclades, with a beautiful Chora with pebbled streets and whitewashed houses as well stunning beaches. The most famous beach of Kimolos is Prasa, an impressive beach with white sand and -literally- turquoise waters.
Folegandros is also an island near Milos with rough and extraordinary beauty. You can take the boat or the ferry, and you need less than one hour to get to Folegandros, which will impress you with its romantic and elegant Chora as well as the lunar landscape and its hiking paths.
