Thiseio is a very interesting city, which combines beauty, nightlife, history and culture. Petralona is the district near Thiseio, which is an alternative district of Athens full of cafes, taverns with mezedes and a retro open air cinema. Dionysiou Areopagitou Street

The most impressive street in Athens is the pedestrian of Dionysiou Areopagitou, which begins from the Acropolis Museum and ends in Thiseio, where the street is renamed to Apostolou Paulou. This is by far the best walk in Athens. You are literally walk with a magnificent view of the Acropolis in a wonderful pedestrian with flowers, trees and luxury, neoclassical houses. Then, you reach Thiseio, and the street is full of bars, taverns and cafés. In this street, is also located the entrance to Pnyx.


Pnyx

In Filopappos Hill, in Thiseio, is located Pnyx, the place where the ancient Athenians voted. Pnyx was used for the popular assemblies in Athens since 507 B.C., being one of the most important and earliest sites in the creation of democracy. Pericles, Aristides, Demosthenes and Alcibiades spoke here, at the speaker's platform, which you can admire today. Pnyx was the meeting place of the earliest known in the world democratic legislature, the Athenian ecclesia.

Zefyros and Thiseio open-air cinemas

In Petralona, there is a retro open-air cinema (Cine Zefyros), which plays cinefile movies in a wonderful setting with lounge chairs and serving souvlakia, while Cine Thisio in Thiseio, is an open-air cinema, which is considered among the best cinemas in the world as CNN recommended it as the most beautiful cinema worldwide thanks to its magnificent view of Acropolis.

Herakleidon Art Museum

A modern museum with unique exhibitions is waiting for you in Herakleidon Street in Thiseio. Significant is the new section on the Mechanism of Antikythira and the history of Greek navigation in the Aegean and Mediterranean Sea with handmade wooden models of Greek ships.
