The gastronomic miracle of Mykonos

Cyclades ● Mykonos ● 14 September 2017

Mykonos has a delicious cuisine, and lately it has created a gastronomic miracle with high quality restaurants for every taste. Japanese, Mediterranean, Italian or French cuisine among others is waiting for you to have an abundant culinary experience in one of the internationally awarded restaurants in Mykonos Town or on one of the top beaches of the island.

Cycladic and Cretan cuisine with sophisticated techniques and ingredients can be tasted in Kensho restaurant in Ornos Mykonos. Creative dishes, such as snails served on bulgur with wild herbs or rabbit braised with legumes, muzithra cheese and thyme, are must.

Great things are also being done this year at Kiku in Mykonos Town with a voluptuous version of Japanese cuisine. Highlights include the salmon sashimi with okahijiki and tomato ponzu sauce, which is a fascinating combination of Greek and Jalanese cuisine, lamb chops marinated in a spicy miso sauce with shishito peppers or Black Angus beef gyoza with chili soy sauce.

Branco is the new arrival in Platis Gialos Beach (Mykonos) with a Greek comfort menu. A must is the dessert department of the restaurant, with delicacies, such as orange cake with agave syrup, fresh vanilla and mandarin sorbet.

Buddha Bar Beach in Ornos Beach (Mykonos) has a chilled MediterrAsian decor and strictly oriental menu with amazing sushi.

Wolves of Kitchen also in Ornos Beach (Mykonos) serves a very interesting brunch menu with dishes like steak 'n' eggs, and special appetisers, such as watermelon with feta cheese or veal tiratido  with chives.

Mr Pug in Mykonos Town is perhaps the best Asian fusion in Greece with a hybrid menu of southeast Asian dishes with Greek elements, such as panang curry with watermelon rind, cherry tomatoes and peanut butter.

Nikkei in Mykonos Town creates the Mykonian version of Japanese-Peruvian cuisine with dishes that combine perfectly meat and fish, while Ling Ling offers creative Chinese cuisine.

Nice n Easy in Mykonos Town has embraced the taverna style, and it has also acquired a second restaurant right next door with gluten-free dishes.

JackieO' Beach in Super Paradise (Mykonos) presents a menu with Cycladic roots but also elements from Mexico, Peru and Japan, while the impressive beach club SantAnna in Paraga Beach (Mykonos) has a cosmpolitan cuisine being served in front of the huge pool that has also artificial islands with private cabanas.

Scorpios also in Paraga Beach (Mykonos) is a beach club with bohemian setting and dishes with generous cuts of high quality meat from selected farms around the world.

Principote in Panormos Beach (Mykonos) has fashioned a beautiful executed menu centred on Greek cuisine with alternative dishes, such as the Greek salad with Mykonian xinotyri cheese, black cumin, caramelised cherry tomatoes, Cretan black tomatoes and handmade sesame bread rings from Thessaloniki.
