The list of things to take with you for island hopping

Greek Islands ● 02 January 2018

Greek islands are the dream trip of many travellers. And Greek Island Hopping is an easy and interesting way to discover more islands during your vacation in Greece. If you have just planned an island-jumping trip in Greece and you are willing to visit 3, 4 or even more islands, have a look at this list with things you should take with you in order to have everything you need. Pack your suitcase and get ready for amazing holidays!

Ferry tickets

The most important thing for island hopping are the ferry tickets. If you haven't booked them online, then be sure you have taken them with you. Of course, the best option is to book the ferry ticket online and have a version in your smart phone. Even better: book online the Greek Island Pass, which is only one ferry ticket that allows you to make multiple routes to more islands at the price of only one ticket. Easily, quickly, loaded in your smart phone in order not to worry about tickets and schedules.

Backpack

Remember: packing light is the wisest thing to do when doing island hopping. Can you imagine how difficult would be to carry your huge suitcase from the hotel to the port in order to catch the ferry for the next island?

Sunscreen protection

Don't forget your sunscreen protection! From May to September, the sunshine on the Greek islands and especially in the Cyclades, Crete and Dodecanese is constant. Plus, the sun is really strong and can be dangerous. You should put sunscreen protection cream on your whole body and face before going out, and replenish it every 3-4 hours.

Sunglasses

Sunglasses are also necessary for the same reason. While your umbrella is needless, without sunglasses, especially in Cyclades where the sun reflects on the white houses, you can't stand to stay outside for more than 5 minutes.

Swimsuit

Swimming is synonymous to the Greek islands. Even if you are not that confident with your swimming skills, don't be afraid. The sea of the islands is calm and clear, so you can definitely slosh about. Otherwise, you can just sunbathe under the warm sun drinking your cocktail on the stunning beaches.

Swimsuit

Books, tablet etc.

Greek islands mean total relaxation. There is nothing more relaxing than lying on your sunbed and reading a book or surfing on the internet. For the citizens of the EU, there are no roaming charges in Greece. Besides, it is really easy to find Wi-Fi in Greece almost everywhere. It is free and fast. So, just enjoy your days in Greece and charge your batteries for a new creative season!
