The most wonderful villages in Milos

Aegean islands ● Cyclades ● Milos ● 25 June 2017

Milos is a wonderful island of Cyclades with the best beaches you can find in the Aegean Sea. Furthermore, Milos has many things to offer to its visitor in addition to the beaches, such as the Archaeological and the Mineralogical Museum, the catacombs and an ancient theatre. The most interesting thing you can do in Milos apart from swimming and sunbathing in these amazing beaches as well as admiring the culture of the island is take a walk, eat, drink and shop in the beautiful villages of Milos that are typically Cycladic and give you the ultimate feeling of being on an island and enjoying the summer.

Plaka, Chora

Plaka is the main town of Milos, a wonderful village with white houses and pebbled streets on the top of the hill that has an astonishing view of the Aegean Sea and the nearby islands. The traditional architecture with the whitewashed houses, the colourful windows and the flowers hanging on them will definitely make you feel the Cycladic aura of the island. The best time to visit Plaka is on the evening, during the sunset. Have a stroll in the cobblestone streets, buy nice souvenirs and summer clothes for the local shops and eat a dessert in one of the traditional cafes with the hospitable owners.

Adamas

Adamas Milos is the port of the island and the main spot for nightlife. While Plaka and Pollonia are quiet and calm places, Adamas Milos is a vivid town with many opportunities for nightlife. However, Adamas Milos has not kept its Cycladic character as much as Plaka and Pollonia.

Pollonia

Pollonia is a beautiful fishing village with taverns by the sea and many accommodation possibilities. It is also a port that connects Milos with Kimolos, the nearby small Cycladic island. Pollonia has kept its traditional Cycladic character and is the best choice together with Plaka for spending some time, relaxing, drink coffee and eating.

Klima

Klima is the most charming fishing village of Milos, with colourful houses literally by the sea. The picturesque scenery of Klima has been created thanks to the syrmata, the fishermen houses that are carved into the rock and have colourful doors by the sea because the fishermen were putting their boats into their houses. Klima is the smallest village among the abovementioned, but it is a perfect choice to stop after your swimming, admire the scenery, take amazing photos and eat in the traditional tavern of the village.
