Top 10 places of Athens

  1. Plaka
  2. This is the first neighborhood that comes in mind when it comes to the beauties of Athens. Picturesque alleys with colorful neoclassical buildings and small squares. These roads are full of history and visitors who flood it all around the year.

  3. Anafiotika
  4. The island of Athens, little white homes, blue windows, pink flowers and many cats compose this Cycladic neighborhood lying on the feet of the Acropolis hill.

  5. Petralona
  6. The so called “Dream Neighborhood” with the low scale homes, the leafy balconies, the small taverns with their tables on the pavements and their yards, give you the feeling that you are in old times Athens.

  7. Dionysiou Areopagitou
  8. This road surrounds the most leafy spots of the Acropolis hill. It is one of the most peacefull pedestrians of Athens, ideal for endless scrolls just after the sunset.

  9. Apostolou Pavlou
  10. This is the natural expand of Dionysiou Areopagitou, it connects the Ancient Agora with the Acropolis and the Roman Agora . The fact that it is one of the most famous spots in town for a first date has to do a lot with its beauty.

  11. Mets
  12. Narrow pedestrian roads, stone steps and bitter orange trees. A green park on top of a hill with a secret jazz hangout. If this is not the nicest neighborhood of Athens, it is hard to ima ge which would that be.

  13. Strefi Hill
  14. It is the less know hill of the city – and this is the reason it is one of the best. Stunning view to the less touristic parts of Athens, leafy and earthy trails with a spot to socialize with ouzo "mezedes".

  15. Philopappos Hill
  16. If Strefi is the less know hill of Athens, Philopappos is the most famous. On top of it you will find a monument dedicated to Gaios Julius Philopappos acompanied with a wondrous view of the Acropolis, the Odeon of Herodes Atticus and the rest of the city.

  17. The Acropolis Hill
  18. Not just the image of the Acropolis but the rock on top of which lies the Acropolis with the Parthenon, with its unique energy and of course its fascinating view of the rest of Athens.

  19. The "lower" pedestrian Ermou road
  20. This road has nothing to do with its upper part, noisy, commercial, packed with people. The lower road is very atmospairic, ideal for walks. It passes the Keramikos archeological site and continuous till the Technopolis (cultural park).
