Traveling with kids made easy...

If you already have children, you probably know that having vacations with them is not always the most relaxing thing in the world. This of course does not mean that it would be better to leave your kids at home with grandma. It is really important to share with them memorable traveling experiences they will carry for the rest of their lifes. Here are some tips which might help you have unstressed family vacations.

• Children do not need vacation

You have to understand that children need no relaxation, beaches with white sand, good food and wine. Those things are outside their universe.

• Choose a children friendly destination

Consider issues such as the safety of the destination you are planning to visit. Also book hotels which are kids friendly, have special facilities for children and offer some activities for them. Avoid adult only environments, with lots of smoke, alcohol etc.

• Do not have great expectations

Be prepared for the worst and hope for the best. Many people tend to expect too much from their vacation and they get really frustrated when they face reality. Delays, accidents, problems might be one of the reasons you will need to change your plans. The only thing you can do is to be prepared and move on.

• Get organized while they are asleep

If you are going to book a three hour flight, try to schedule it during the hours the children are usually asleep. In the beginning they might feel excited about traveling but as time goes by they will get annoyed by the noise and the airplane vibrations.

• Do not feed them with sugar

Avoid giving your children candy, juice, chocolate etc. during your journey. Sugar is a source of energy which means that is will be impossible to keep them in their seats, during a flight.

• Lots of luggage

It would be better to forget your past "hand luggage traveling", you will need lots of space for their toys and entertainment. Of course you can leave their toys at home, just be prepared to spend a considerable amount of money, when you reach your destination.

• Make a daily timetable

A nice idea is to find events you would like to attend or sights you would like to visit and make a daily timetable. Children love following a schedule, filling their day with activities. With this way they will get tired and ready to sleep at night. The more they sleep and they are relaxed the better time you are going to have.

• Ask some help

You can always have with you, your parents, parents in law or better a baby sitter! Even though you are going to spend more money, you deserve a diner alone with your husband. But do not forget that we all hide a child in our souls, we just have to follow our children to their magic innocent world.
