EU countries
If you are a citizen of an EU country, you don't need a visa to come to Greece, which is also a member state of the European Union. You can travel with your passport or you identification card.
USA, Australia, Brazil, Argentina, Canada, Israel, Japan, New Zealand, Mexico, Korea, Norway, Serbia, Switzerland
If you are a citizen of these countries, you don't need to apply for a Greece visa. You are allowed to travel to Greece and to all other members of the European Union for up to 90 days for tourist or business purposes without a visa, as long as your passport is valid for at least 3 months after your planned return back home.
Other countries
Citizens of other countries, such as China, Turkey and Russia (see here the list of the countries that require a visa) need to apply in the Greek embassy of their country for a visa to Greece.
Required documents for the Tourist Visa Application
1. Download the application form and fill it.
2. Attach 2 photos of passport format.
3. Your passport, which must have at least 2 blank pages and be valid for at least 3 months beyond return date, is required.
4. Travel medical insurance confirmation of at least 30,000€ coverage within Greece and European Union
5. A cover letter with the purpose of your travel to Greece and your itinerary
6. Proof of civil status (marriage certificate, birth certificate of children, death certificate of spouse)
7. Flight itinerary with dates and flight number that specify your entry and exit from Greece.
8. Hotel reservation in Greece for the whole duration of the intended stay
9. Proof of sufficient financial means for the period of stay in Greece
10. Invitation Letter
11. Bank statement of the last 6 months
12. Passport copies
