Have you planned your vacations in Greece or are you willing to? Have you booked your tickets and accommodation and everything is ready? If you have decided to spend your vacations in Greece during summer and especially during July and August, the most beautiful summer months but at the same time the hottest months in the heart of summer, here, you can find some tips that will help you to feel better and enjoy more your days in the amazing Greek islands.
1. Have sunscreen protection
The sun shines in Greece during these months the whole day. The possibility of rain or cloudiness is extremely low. Furthermore, in many Greek islands and mainly in the off-the-beaten-path islands that are authentic and unspoiled, the beaches are not organised. That means they don't have whether umbrellas nor sunbeds. Don't forget to put your sunscreen protection cream before leaving your hotel. Otherwise, you will get burned from the first day.

2. Take an umbrella and water on the beach
If you don't want to risk sunstroke or heatstroke, take on the beach an umbrella and much water because many beaches in the Greek islands are totally secluded without any tavern or cantina to buy water, which is the most essential thing during your stay on the beach, especially in July and August due to the high temperatures.
3. Don't forget a mosquito repellent
At night, in your balcony or a bar by the sea, you will definitely need a cream against mosquitoes since they are numerous because of the heat.
4. Beware of the waves
The Greek sea is calm and not dangerous, but in many beaches, there are no lifeguards, so you have to pay attention when you swim. On many beaches, especially in Cyclades, where the wind is strong, there is always the possibility that the sea has huge waves, so be careful by swimming.
5. Visit the archaeological sites in the morning
In July and August, the temperature can reach 40 degrees or even higher. The archaeological sites are usually open from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. My advice is to visit them early in the morning (before 10 o'clock). Even at 7 p.m. the temperature is very hot, so the better solution is to explore these places under the warm sun, before it gets too high. Then, you can go swimming in order to cool down.
