This is an unforgettable experience you can have only in the Greek islands

Cyclades ● Dodecanese ● Ionian islands ● 04 May 2017

Island-hopping is an experience every traveller should live in Greece. Actually, it is an experience that you can only have in the Greek islands thanks to their location and the special conditions of the Aegean and the Ionian Sea. Greece is blessed with thousands of islands of every kind. Developed or unspoiled, for young people or families, with green and mild or with wild and dry landscape, with traditional towns or with unexplored small villages, the Greek islands are unique all over the world, and one thing is for sure. There is no chance that you can't find your dream island because there are islands for every taste.

In this scenery, the circumstances are ideal for island-hopping. Both the Aegean Islands and the Ionian Islands are located in a very close distance to each other. For example in Cyclades, from Milos to Kimolos, or from Koufonisi to Donoussa, you can go even by a small boat, while from other islands, such as from Mykonos to Syros, there are ferries several times in the day, and you only need 30 minutes or one hour. Furthermore, the sea is calm, the trip is simple, and you can easily be on one island in the morning and on another in the afternoon. You can also swim in one beach, and then, take the boat and visit the beach of another island. Thus, you can enjoy the vacations in popular islands as well as in off-the-beaten-path places, in order to combine peace, privacy and relaxation together with party and tourism facilities.

If you want to customise your holidays and explore inaccessible beaches, you also rent a yacht for the ultimate island-hopping experience.

Santorini

Near Athens, a perfect island-hopping trip is in the Argosaronic Gulf. Aegina, Poros, Hydra and Spetses with their romantic atmosphere, unique architecture and natural beauty, are small paradises in close proximity to Athens. If you want to explore the famous Cyclades, you can visit Kea, Kythnos and Serifos, which are located only 1-2 hours from Athens.

Another group of islands in Cyclades are Andros, Tinos, Mykonos and Syros, while from Naxos, you can explore with the famous Skopelitis ferry the Small Cyclades, such as Koufonisi, Donoussa and Amorgos. In the west Cyclades, the romantic islands of Milos, Kimolos, Folegandros and Sikinos can offer you relaxing moments and wonderful beaches.

In Dodecanese, you can combine Rhodes with amazing islands nearby for a day-trip or a couple of days, such as Symi, Nisyros, Tilos, Chalki and Kastellorizo. Kasos and Karpathos are also located in a very close distance to each other, and the flight from the one island to the other is the shortest flight in the world!

The Ionian Islands, with their green landscape, the calm beaches and the traditional towns, are ideal for families, who want something different. Combine Kefalonia with Ithaca or Corfu with Paxoi, and you will have the chance to explore a famous developed Greek island and then, relax and enjoy the peace of a less developed but equally beautiful island.
